Otter Creek is located near the town of West Union in Fayette county. This is definitely one of the longest stretches of fishable stream in the state, and worth a trip during the spring or fall through mid winter. It does hold fish all
The benefit of Otter Creek's length is you rarely have much competition for prime spots if you are willing to walk. Some of the best holes are located midway between the bridges (Hornet and Echo Valley Roads) that enclose the longest section of this stream. Another interesting feature of this stream has to do with the creek bed itself. Near its upper reaches, Otter has mostly a rocky bottom. As you move downstream the creek bed becomes muddier. I am no geologist, but I suspect this has something to do with the use of the land around the creek. At any rate, if you are looking for somewhere different to spend a day in the spring or fall, Otter Creek is a nice stream with some pretty decent fishing to offer.
