I called my buddy earlier in the day and he and I are going to go fly fishing this Friday up at SBC. I wanted to work on my cast so I got some cheap poppers from walmart and went down to the local pond. I got my cast down pretty good (not a lot of major hangups and good distance) and caught a few fish along the way. I forgot how much fun it is to catch fish on a fly! The 1st was a small bullgill (which was not a lot of fun on a 6wt rod) but the 2nd was a nice 1lb bass. I wondered if I could remember how to fight a fish on a fly rod since it has been 15 years but it all came back to me. I caught a couple more to round out the night. I can't wait to get a trout this weekend!
